As part of our effort to strengthen the relationship among activists and organizers in the Asia-Pacific region, DGR Asia-Pacific started an online ecological conference.

Asia Pacific Ecological Conference is an initiative in which activists share their experiences, knowledge and analysis regarding an issue that they are working on. The conference can be held in-person or online. We hope to build solidarity among activists through this.

Here’s a list of the events we have held so far:

Opening of the first Ecological conference

The first session was held on 27th June, 2020. Organizers from Philippines, India and Nepal participated in the discussion. Participants shared their experiences with each other, regarding their current situation and the initiatives and activities that they have been a part of. Learn more

On July 18th, 2020, a closed discussion was held with organizers from the Philippines and Nepal. State repression and security culture were discussed in relation to the situation in the two states. Learn more

Women’s role in environmental conservation

On August 8th, 2020, DGR Asia-Pacific conducted a discussion on Women’s Role in Environment Conservation. Women activists and organizers from Nepal and the Philippines participated in the discussion. Learn more
